Bash Update

Bash is Home!
We’d like to thank everyone for all your patience and support over the last 8 ½ months. After 6 rounds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and 30 days of radiation over 7 months of treatment, Bash is officially done with active treatment and is settling back in at home. We’ll spend the next 6 months working with speech, occupational and physical therapists to help him regain skills he’s lost but overall, he’s doing very well and is excited to be home with his sisters. He’ll have regular scans every 3 months for the next two years and then every year after that. As anyone who has been affected by cancer will tell you, this ‘wait and see’ period can be very taxing, but we are going to try to enjoy every moment we have together as a family and make up for our lost time.
We cannot thank the community enough for all the support and flexibility while we navigated this challenging time. We are back to regular hours and look forward to getting more families on bikes. As we figure out our ‘new normal’ at home we are looking forward to quiet time with the kids in the yard, bike rides out in the lanes and doing whatever we can to support other members of this amazing community we are part of.
All our best,
Hazel, Edie, Bash, Robert & Liz
